Hello there waymoe here,
Waymoe was discussing things with a coworker. She thinks that the overall unrest currently going on in central america is due in no small part to Americas war on drugs and the need for cheap labor.
Waymoe believes that it is a combination of overwhelming demand for drugs and cheap goods with the human pursuit of power, at any cost. Waymoe and this unnamed girl, Michele, went back and forth for many hours. She called waymoe bad names like fuckface and inbred monkey fucker (which is inbred, waymoe or the monkey, Waymoe will never know). Waymoe called her names like “One L” and Jennifer. Waymoe is not proud.
After we moved beyond the white rape of central america, Waymoe and Jennifer argued about best way to devil eggs. Michele preferred using a fork, mayo, and spices, while Waymoe preferred using Mastodon. This uspet Jennifer and made her attack Ms. Waymoe and her club foot. Waymoe was not please and we began to argue again. Terrible things were said and Michele actually resigned this morning. Waymoe had to speak to HR and the police but is not worried.
Anyway, what car is the best car to do car things in? Let waymoe know!

The whole point of waymoe is not to be ordinary shitposting, but more to be a kind of uncanny valley idiotposting. To be the Ralph Wiggum of a self-important self-promoting eager beaver. waymoe is a surreal satire of the posts-nonsensical-polls, incoherent-train-of-thought, fancies-self-an-autojournalist, high-esteem-holding dipshittery that we are probably all guilty of from time to time. An almost believable stupidity which is nonetheless so extreme as to provoke... exactly your response, in fact. “Oh God, not this shit again” and “Wait what the fuck why”.
In short, waymoe is the Oppo Andy Kaufman act.

Antihumor just doesn’t work for some people. It’s about finding a way for something to be funny in the way that it is unfunny or stupid, but the base level of unfunny or stupid can be offputting... and not all anithumor works the same way, so it hits people differently.

I suppose you’re right about the different kinds of anti-humour, because there’s the stuff where there’s loads of setup and then disappointment (the clown joke), jokes that come out of left field, and so on, but to me, this is just spewing nonsense with no form to it. “I yelled at a woman and we called each other names, what’s the best car I can drive?” It’s just... what’s the appeal to this?

It’s all part of the joke. He’s doing the bad-form writing hallmark of starting off with an anecdote to make his “article” more of a story, while still having it sprinkled with a schtick that doesn’t work in that mode, and trying to have his cake and eat it in terms of making use of the “conversation” to signal what an enlightened individual he is at the same time as making a segue. The whole thing goes horribly off the rails because it’s unedited and falls into admissions against interest - because the teller is in a stream of consciousness and the consciousness is that of an idiot. So much so, that he forgets to come to the point of the conversation
having anything to do with cars.
It’s an ADHD/Ralph Wiggum/JeffK take on the way (for example) that Tom Friedman likes to start economics columns with anecdote stories about conversations with cab drivers. It adds color, but in reality,
nobody wants to hear about the fucking cab driver, Tom.
Basically, it’s a shaggy dog story that isn’t funny in itself other than having Bertie Wooster style admissions against interest of which the teller isn’t aware - but what’s actually funny is the style used and incompetence therein. It’s like reading a fourth-grader’s book report on Hemingway into which a whole lot of Ernestisms have crept unnoticed by the very bad writer, which at the same time reveals that the kid’s mom is having an affair the kid doesn’t recognize - or something.
Not funny to everybody, certainly.
